چکیده
In this paper, we propose a tangible tabletop interface that can identify individual users using digital and physical objects. In environments in which multiple users are participating, the system can provide user-adaptive information regarding both digital and physical objects, and can record and utilize the operation history for individual users. Using this system, users can perform cooperative learning and share their ideas with each other. We implemented a petrology application using our proposed system.

Innovative interfaces for Serious Games
The tangible interaction approach has, in recent years, become a promising alternative to tactile interaction for very young children. Children playing with Tangible User Interfaces (TUI) are motivated by the novel and digital environment and benefit from the same values as conventional physical playing. Young children build their mental image of the world through action and motor responses and...
متن کاملEvaluation of Content Handling Methods for Tabletop Interface
We focused on face-to-face collaborative learning in a classroom using spatio-temporal contents, which is typically conducted after outdoor class in an elementary school. We have developed a tangible collaborative learning support system that uses physical objects and associating spatio-temporal contents. We have implemented a few methods to handle these contents. Two experiments were conducted...

متن کاملUsing a Serious Game with a Tangible Tabletop Interface to Promote Student Engagement in a First Grade Classroom: A Comparative Evaluation Study
This study considers to what extent a tangible tabletop interface can enhance student engagement in a serious mathematics game compared to regular interaction with the same game in a classroom. The participants were eleven first grade students randomly assigned to three groups. Each group played the standard game in a classroom environment and then the same game again, this time implemented on ...
متن کاملCombinatorix: a Tangible User Interface that Supports Colaborative Learning of Probabilities
Teaching abstract concepts is notoriously difficult, especially when we lack concrete metaphors that map to those abstractions. Combinatorix offers a novel approach that combines tangible objects with an interactive tabletop to help students explore, solve and understand probability problems. Students rearrange physical tokens to see the effects of various constraints on the problem space; a se...
